COMMISSION A PIECE

At Ella Bull we believe that the commissioning of a bespoke piece of jewellery should not be an intimidating experience, it should be fun and inclusive. It is our job to educate our clients, allowing them to make considered decisions that result in a unique future heirloom. Be it an engagement ring, wedding band or special gift for oneself or a loved one, we want to make pieces that haven’t been seen before and reflect the wearers personality and style. 

From OUR London workshop, Ella works closely with clients throughout each stage of production - from design to finish, allowing for unique, high-end results. See below for an outline of the bespoke commission process.

STAGE ONE: 
Initial Ideas

• An initial consultation (or chat) will take place either in person at the workshop or by email, telephone or video call.

 • Initial ideas including overall design and use of metal, stones and sizing will be discussed.

• A basic layout sketch can be drawn at this point.

• Every design constructed for the client is the property of Ella Bull. It may not be reproduced in part or in full without the permission of Ella Bull.

STAGE TWO: 
Stone selection

 

• Based on the information from the initial consultation Ella will source a selection of stones to suit your needs, with the ring quite often designed around the perfect stone.

• You will be invited back into the workshop to view the stone selection in person or alternatively all this information along with photos and videos will be sent by email for you to select.

• Once a stone has been chosen a final quote will be issued with the view to then issue and invoice for deposit payment.

STAGE three:
The making process

• Ella will now start the process of hand making your commission using traditional goldsmithing techniques. Please allow 5-10 weeks for this process (a completion date will be confirmed on a case by case basis).

• One complimentary resize is given if the piece is returned within 1 month. Thereafter all resizing is priced at £25.

STAGE four: 
Receiving your piece


• An in person collection can be arranged at the workshop or alternatively your piece can be posted by Royal Mail Special Delivery (signed for by 1pm) for an additional £7.

• If necessary any alterations to the original design can be taken on request and a cost will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

• An additional service to recycle a clients existing heirloom pieces is available. Prices for the redesign, melt down, remake, refine and hallmarking process start from £295.
